Explore Plant & Transport Solutions are currently recruiting for a Transport Depot Controller to work at one of our Northern depots either Worksop or Swadlincote.

The purpose of the role is to help to ensure the operational elements of Explore Transport within your region are performed to exacting standards and in line with applicable legislation.  Adopting a ‘Can Do’ approach where challenges arise and be a positive stakeholder in helping to improve operational behaviours and efficiencies.

Accountabilities 

  • Be the leading stakeholder for driver infringement management (Tachomaster DCRS) – Management of EU & WTD regulations in line with ‘O’ Licensing obligations (Regional), escalating areas of concern accordingly
  • Enhance communications with driver team (Regional) – Be a key stakeholder in Driver Forum process – Become drivers POC for operational issues
  • Assist with incident investigations, produce appropriate summary / escalation reports where required
  • In conjunction with the Training Team ensure full FORS compliance across driver team (Regional)
  • Assist with managing the PCN / Fines resolution process (Regional)
  • Manage LGV Driver Absence / RTW Interviews (Regional) escalating any issues / concerns – Cascade ownership (Regional)
  • In conjunction with the Training Team, embrace the use of available vehicle telematics and camera systems to offer coaching / performance improvements across the driver team
  • Attend Engineering Design Brief or Account management meetings offering guidance on load security options & best practice where applicable
  • Be a key stakeholder re undertaking disciplinary investigations

Nature and Area of Impact 

  • To help enhance the relationships / interaction within the Explore Transport operational team, notably LGV Drivers
  • To follow and help lead all company and depot specific Health and Safety procedures
  • Ability to maintain / enhance existing relationships with wider internal and external stakeholders

Essential Qualifications 

  • CPC – National or International
  • LGV Class 1 Licence
  • Supervisory Qualification

Desirable Qualifications 

  • Valid Driver Qualification Card
  • Driver Assessor Qualification

Skills and Experience 

  • Sound understanding of Transport legislation and operations, with supervisory and/or management experience
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office
  • Proven written, numerical, communication and verbal skills
  • Accurate typing skills recognising need for attention to detail
