TRANSPORT DIVISION
Explore Transport is equipped to transport high-risk equipment and packaged dangerous goods, supporting our commercial and industrial customers with fully compliant hazardous logistics.
Our experience includes the movement of packaged fuel tanks, plant and equipment containing residual fuels or oils, lithium and ADR-classified batteries, power units, and other packaged hazardous or regulated goods.
Our team is trained to remain up to date with current industry practices and legislation, enabling us to transport hazardous goods by road in compliance with the ‘UK Carriage of Dangerous Goods Regulations’ and ADR requirements.
It is common for individuals and businesses to overlook that large batteries and battery powered equipment is legally classified as ‘dangerous goods’, with incorrect classification, packaging, labelling and documentation resulting in delays, enforcement, fines or serious incidents. This is because batteries pose a serious fire risk during transport, whether they are new, damaged, defective or recalled.
Explore Transport is trusted by leading UK manufacturers for the safe and compliant transport of lithium-ion batteries and other ADR-controlled loads. Whether new or used, our trained personnel and planning team will correctly classify, document, package and transport your hazardous loads, ensuring every step is fully compliant to protect your business, employees and the wider public.
Our experience includes:
Our planning and tracking systems have been developed in-house, providing us with full capability to create web functionality which enables us to tailor the system to suit the needs of our customers. All of our vehicles are GPS tracked and linked directly to our bespoke planning system, giving customers the visibility to track real time updates on the ETA of their deliveries.
Our centralised planning function is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and connects all of our sites, depots and offices, enabling us to monitor a suite of KPIs and efficiently plan our fleet to deliver the best network performance around the clock. ETA boards allow customers to see real-time updates of their deliveries, meaning they can manage their loading and offloading schedules more productively, as they are alerted to delays immediately.
Explore boast’s one of the newest Euro 6 compliant fleets in the industry, with further plans to develop and expand our fleet with the acquisition of the latest electric and hydrogen articulated tractor units on the market. Explore strives to be the first construction logistics company to deliver emission free into London.
All our drivers are supported by our Stream HGV Sat Nav, allowing them to plan their routes avoiding any weight or height restrictions. The Stream HGV Sat Nav’s provide accurate route planning, meaning our team can modify a route as appropriate to deliver directly to specific gates that may not be available on traditional GPS guidance technology.
Supporting our drivers with the latest in AI safety technology, Explore’s Transport Division are onboarding new AI camera systems into our fleet to help identify and protect vulnerable road users. Extending our capabilities further with brand new Geofencing capabilities on our latest trucks, our team can geofence and set specific speeds for our customer’s sites to ensure that all site restrictions and regulations are always adhered to.
